Circa primarily provides archaeological and ethnographic surveys for a variety of tribal, government, and private sponsors. Geographic areas of expertise include the Hualapai Indian Reservation, northwest Arizona and southeast Nevada, the Navajo Nation, Grand Canyon National Park, the Hopi Indian Reservation, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
We have extensive expertise in database, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and graphics and multimedia software and applications. Peter has conducted several personal and local history video and audio interviewing projects, and we have a complete suite of digital video and audio recording and editing equipment. Peter also has a strong background in training as a former archaeologist with the Navajo Nation Archaeology Department - Northern Arizona University Branch and more recently on the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
We exclusively use efficient hand-held optical mapping instruments during survey and recording, such as EDMs and Laser Rangefinders, and map-grade Thales MobileMapper Pro GPS units capable of sub-meter accuracy. This approach promotes collection of accurate and reliable field data and overall high-quality results.
