Definition of Maritime Archaeology

While pengertahuan about the culture of the society as a whole was studied by anthropologists. History, archeology and anthropology are sciences brothers (sisters discilines) that seeks to study the culture in artiluas, both diachronic and synchronic. History of shipping or maritime trade of the past for example would not be complete without a review of a number of sunken ships and objects of maritime cargo and cultural communities who are still alive.
Known in Indonesia in understanding the scope of Underwater Archaeology is actually slightly narrower than the Maritime archeology. If the study of underwater archeology focus on cultural objects past the sink, then the Maritime archaeological study of human interaction with the sea, lakes and rivers. These interactions are studied with the archaeological study of material culture of maritime objects. Objects that include ship cargo ship, the existing facilities on the beach, even the human frame. In addition to concentrating on the shipwreck site on the sea floor, since 1980 the site also learned that the ship stranded on the beach, in the form of the grave site where the ship lay dead and a number of provisions grave.
